Like you, I sort of lost interest in King and horror several years ago. But I just started reading this one, and I'm loving it. I especially like how we see a few of the characters from some of his earlier books.

A loving grandmother just called to ask about getting the book for her sweet granddaughter. Nice.

Another appropriate holiday and WV related (author lived here) children's book is `TWAS THE DAY BEFORE CHIRSTMAS by Brenda Seabrooke, with illustrations by Delana Bettoli. It's a fun to "read aloud" picture book about how a young Papa, Clement Clarke Moore, got the ideas for his poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas." He wrote it as a Christmas gift for his children and based it on life in their home and their town. We often refer to it as "The Night Before Christmas." What a gift it was and is.

Best wishes to Mr. Allen. Our home was in Shenandoah Junction, WV, Jefferson County, for over 16 years and we grew to love the history and rolling country side. It is a county that cherishes it's history, but is quickly losing the historic panorama to subdivisions. I hope to add this book to my personal collection and savor the beauty of these photos. This is a diverse county, a bedroom community of Washington, D.C., while retaining areas lost in historic times, a wonderful retreat from the current busy world.
